Song choices I’m picking between for a formal-ish ceremony in a very small chapel to walk to as I want something non-traditional:
A thousand years-Christina Perri
Can’t Help Falling In Love with You-Elvis Presley
The Notebook-Feels Like Home
I’m getting married at the Chapel at Planet Hollywood on January 28, 2016 in front of 32 of our close family/friends. I’m so torn on picking the song to walk into. I’m worried I’m going to be a blubbering mess. I would like something a bit unexpected but that people will like and recognize, I feel like all of these songs are good choices. One of these makes me tear up everytime I hear it but I will let you know which one I was leaning towards when I get the results! Thanks again bees I don’t know what I would do without you. 🙂

- Wedding: April 2017 - Hogarths, Solihull
Elvis gets my vote!
I think that would be so romantic <3

Elvis definitely. The first two are way overdone. Elvis is much more romantic and a classic.

I like Marry Me by Train….It was in the final list for mine.
However, I ended up going with Adam Sandlers “Grow Old With You” instead. It was cheesy, lovey-dovey, and a bit unexpected. 🙂

Elvis!!!! I’ve sung that Christina Perri song at like 900 weddings. Elvis is classic. There are so many beautiful covers of it too, if you don’t prefer his voice. But the original recording is so classic, I’d go with that one 🙂

I dislike when people use Marry Me by Train because I feel like they don’t take the time to actually listen to the words. After listening to the words the song went from romantic to creepy really quick. Just my opinion though.
I agree Christina Perri is overdone, but have you considered looking into the cover of the song done by The Piano Guys? It’s very pretty and would feel less overused. But if you don’t want something instrumental, that’s not the way to go.
Elvis has my vote. Simple, romantic, classic. Haley Reinhart recently did a gorgeous cover of it, too, if you’re not 100% about the original.

- Wedding: September 2017 - Poppy Ridge Golf Course
Out of these options Elvis gets my vote. But nearly anything is preferable to A Thousand Years.

Woah okay those are some really strong opinions about a thousand years by christina perry which is the song that I was leaning towards lol. I almost cry every time I hear it. But if it will offend everyone I guess I probably shouldn’t use it. hahaha….

Don’t get me wrong, I love 1000 years too…but it’s going the way of that ukelele cover of somewhere over the rainbow. It’s very overdone. There is NOTHING wrong with using it however. At the end of the day it is YOUR enterance, and it should be exactly how you imagine it 🙂

I hate the first two songs. Elvis is the best option, but these are all predictable.
ETA: Do what moves you and makes you happy.

go with what YOU like. I went with Pachelbel’s Canon in D (played by our string trio) which has to be THE most clichéd/overdone bridal entrance piece, but it’s a piece of music I have loved since I was little and there was no question of not choosing it. It means something to me, and that was what was important to me. And it’s beautiful. So if the Christina Perri one moves you and you love it, go for it.

I think an instrumental version of the notebook song would be really really nice (I also prefer instrumental for a bridal entrance because its less distracting), though the lyrics are nice too- this is definitely the most unexpected option (all the others are really predictable). I’d also love a cover of the Elvis song (with a soft female voice) if you want lyrics, but I see that you don’t love that option. I agree that 1000 Years is way overdone- I originally wanted to use it for my wedding and didn’t because I saw it at the last 3 weddings I went to and was like “nope!” I ended up with an instrumental version (with strings) of “I See The Light” from Tangled, and loved it.

Of those I like Feels Like Home. I think I’m walking down the aisle to the piano version of Me and You (if you like country) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4VesoPMlCA.

Thank you bees! I really like the instrumental of Feels Like Home, I didn’t even think of that! I also still really like Christina Perri-A Thousand Years. Are lyrics distracting?
