cantwait2bwong :  Personally I find lyrics to be distracting but it’s a personal preference thing.

cantwait2bwong :  I love A Thousand years! I don’t care if it’s overplayed, I tear up when I hear it too. In all honesty no one else will mind if you have something that is overplayed if it means a lot to you. We are having it as our first dance and I know some may think it’s predictable but we both like it so who cares?!

cantwait2bwong :  I don’t think that those specific lyrics are more distracting than any other lyrics (and an instrumental version would be infinitely better than having the lyrics), I just think the song has become an expected cliché. If you really want something “a bit unexpected” then that is not the song to choose. That being said- all that you’re seeing here is other people’s personal opinions- go with your gut. Soon enough, no one but you will remember what song you walked down the aisle to, so it just needs to make you happy, whether its Christina Perry, Feels Like Home, or anything else!

cantwait2bwong :  p.s. Just seen possibly a spinoff thread from this about worst songs. There will always be negative people who “hate” a piece of music. I just don’t get why people would criticise other people’s choice of music. Fair enough if they don’t want it for themselves, but seriously OP I recommend going with your gut and choose whatever you want. The entrance music is for YOU and your partner, not for the guests.

Not sure what “The Notebook” – Feels like Home is…this song is actually sung by Chantal Kreviazuk. Its one of my favorites, but has strong lyrics, so if they actually apply to your relationship, I would def go with that one.

So funny because I’m literally between those exact 3 options haha. I’m honestly leaning towards Can’t Help Falling in Love With You but the Haley Reinhart version. I love her voice and it’s different. My Fiance likes Marry Me by Train the most but the whole “if I ever get the nerve to say hello in this cafe” sort of throws me off. And I do agree that A Thousand Years is overplayed. I love the song so much but I feel like maybe people would be like not this song again lol
