I don’t know if I would even do them….especially if your budget is tight, I don’t know that you need to.  I work at a wedding venue and I’d say about 50% of the favors are left behind ๐Ÿ™

Honestly, with my tight budget, favors were the least of my worries.  I happened to find something that struck my fancy and only cost $0.29 per person!  They worked out perfectly and were worth the minimal cost.  ๐Ÿ™‚

How much you spend depends on what you want to give and what your overall budget is.

We’re spending $4 per favor. We’re having a fall themed wedding so we’ll be giving each guest an orchard fresh mini apple pie. The pies will come packaged in white pie boxes and we’ll be decorating them with color coordinating ribbon and a matching favor label. When they’re all said and done, each favor will cost a little less than $5.

Definitely a personal decision, based heavily on your budget!

I am opting to do a candy buffet (or cookie buffet, or some sort of “darn” buffet) and a faux-photobooth! =)

@dodgercpkl:

That’s great! .29 per person.  Could you please tell me what the favors are?  I am also on a tight budget but willing to spend money for something cute.  I thought of maybe a kitchen magnet.

We got $1.2 per person. I think many people don’t really care if they get favors or not. Some even will throw them away. So, I feel that it is not wise to spend too much on favors.

@dodgercpkl: I am also curious about what your favors were!

We are thinking of around $1 per person, we originally thought about lotto scratchies but now we are thinking of doing a candy buffet.

@nzgirl: Aren’t candy buffets expensive? At least more than $1 pp?

@bRooklynRocks: Oh yea. Most couples who do them totally underestimate how much it’s going to cost. When we first started planning I spec’ed it out and it would have ended up costing us around $300 to make what we wanted.

I found cute little suckers and dressed them up with ribbons and a white milk glass vase.  I had none left at the end of the reception!  lol

I feel so cheap… but I’m budgeting $100 for the favors. I may extend this to $150 but no higher than $200.

We’re doing a photobooth, and the escort “cards” will be personalized lollipops ( http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/browse/processRequest.do?demandPrefix=12&sku=5/1410&prodCatId=388673&mode=Browsing&erec=0&sp=true&requestURI=processProductsCatalog&tabId=1&Ne=90000&sd=Personalized+Wedding+Swirl+Pops#RL0)  .

Well, we haven’t ordered yet, but that’s the plan as of today. Tomorrow may be something different though. Originally we thought we’d give out glasses. Those can be under  $1/person ( http://www.discountmugs.com/ )

OMG Or we could do sparklers! I mean it is the eve of the 4th of July! Oh, now I want to do that. Gosh, I am never going to decide.

I was worried about favors being left behind, so we’re giving out scratch off lottery tickets ๐Ÿ™‚ There are lots of ways to package them and they’re only $1 so even with supplies to package them it won’t cost much. Plus, who’s going to leave behind a lottery ticket if it’s a winner? I know I wouldn’t ๐Ÿ™‚
