I am anti-wedding favor, but my fiance likes the idea. We are having a pretty small wedding of 35 people and assuming our vendor pulls through, we will have a lil extra left in our budget for nice-ish favors. I suggested water bottles (mostly becasue I am obsessed and have millions of them lol), and he suggested cell phone battery chargers. I like the idea, we found some decent ones within our budget, but he wants to put someting clever on them, and we aren’t really the creative-clever type.
The only thing we came up with is “Energized by Love 11-18-18”.

I love the idea! How practical! Something that people will likely use and now throw away as soon as the wedding is over lol
I would definitely appreciate it as a guest.

This is actually one of the few favors I’d be thrilled about! I have 2 anker chargers and btwn my kid, me, and hubby, someone always has their hands on one

I would not take the water bottle. I have SO many free water bottles that just take up space.
I’ve got 3 phone charger banks I’ve already got free as random swag. It has become popular as a swag item, so it might eventually go the way of the water bottle. But I might take that one, and definitely would not take the water bottle.

I got one of these chargers from a vendor that I use at work as a holiday gift. It does not work at all. It’s really a piece of junk. I like the idea as long as you are going to buy something that is decent quality. That being said, I think people will always prefer edible favors so I’d consider that as well.

arriaza415 : I’ve had to institute a very strict NO NEW BEVERAGE CONTAINERS policy at my house due to so many free freaking water bottles, cups, mugs, etc. Where do they come from?!? Our cupboards are beyond capacity with these things.
A charging bank — yes please, I’ll take one of those. And um, a few for my husband and kids?

lilsweetie : kw617 : curiouscat2017 : sparklez11909 : littleanchor : Daisy_Mae : We agreed on the charging bank. I was just looking for a catchy phrase to put on it.
Am I really the only one obsessed with water bottles? LOL I love them every time I get them and I use 90% of them.

arriaza415 : no, I love water bottles and have quite the collection, but only keep the ones that are just perfect (to me) so I love them allll.

I would leave the charger blank and just wrap it nicely. No matter how practical the item, it will be relegated to people’s junk drawer if it’s got someone else’s wedding date or name on it.

Just fyi I have a million promotional power banks that I haven’t even taken out of the packaging – if you get one that can only charge the phone ~1x over it’s not a very good one. Some people might like it but if it was me, I’d leave it on the table.
I think it’s a really good idea, but it depends on the quality. Sorry if I sound like a downer…

arriaza415 : I am also a water bottle junkie but narrowed it down to my favorite brands – yeti and s’well. They are the BEST

I’d like a charger, but not with anything “catchy” on it. Maybe a nice pattern design. Even better a cool car charger that can adapt to different cables. I have a type C cable for my phone, so the sticks everyone gives out don’t work for me.
This is a good one that’s adaptable to most phones, and can charge two at once – I think people would LOVE one of these!

arriaza415 : not everyone has the same cell phone, are the chargers universal? Like what if they are for iPhones and half your guests have Samsungs or whatever?
Personally, I’d prefer a water bottle.

FutureDrAtkins : They are universal. They are portable chargers and you use your own usb phone cord to charge the phone on-the-go.
I have an iPhone but my partner has a Note and we use the same one, but with our own cards. Really handy when traveling/ hiking etc
