We’re having one of those “elegant” hotel ballroom weddings and I’m afraid my favors won’t live up to their expectations? I’m buying both new and secondhand books (making sure they are in good condition), wrapping them up, and tying a nice big ole’ bow on them. Good enough?

I was thinking about this for my favours! Personally I’d love it if I was a guest 🙂

I think it depends if they go with the rest of your wedding. Is you theme book-related? Is the look you’re going for an antique-type of vibe? If so, then I think that works.
In My Humble Opinion, I’m not sure I would like that as a favor–that said, I’m sort of anti-favors. I don’t think people would be disappointed per se – I don’t think guests really should an expectation of a favor, but TBH it might be something I’d leave at the wedding or toss sometime afterward. Sorry, just my 2 cents.

@SomeoneBeautiful: how do you know if your guests will be interested in that particular book they receive?? if you have a book theme it may be ok but personally i wouldn’t understand why i got a book.
books don’t really say “elegant wedding” to me. i would expect something “elegant” like beautifully wrapped macaroons.
imo, if you are going to do favours, get ones that your guests will enjoy or don’t waste your money. will your guests enjoy books?
