Good Morning, Bees!
I have question for anyone who’s been or going to be married! My fiance and I are planning on having wedding favors, but have no idea what to get.
Is anyone planning on giving out wedding favors at the end of their reception? What did you give out?

I love to cook so I’m making bbq sauce as my wedding favour. Even if people don’t take them I’ll be more than happy to keep the leftovers!

I’m skipping favors because we’re doing a destination wedding so it’s harder for people to lug stuff back with them if they are traveling afterwards. To be honest, I hardly keep favors from most weddings – I have several heart wine stoppers, etc. The favors I’ve actually used have been a luggage tag and a packet of wildflower seeds and maybe a cookie or something consumable.

Don’t stress about it. We just went to two weddings this weekend and neither one of them had favors.
We didn’t have them at ours either. We had a bowl of chocolates by the door, so I guess people could have counted that as a favor?

thattallweirdo : My plan is to give out bubbles but at the ceremony and maybe leave the extras by the door at the reception. I love bubbles! They make people happy. Plus they’re pretty cheap to order.

We’re skipping them. I don’t see the point.

Favors are optional and no one will miss them if you don’t have them. So unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket, skip them. If you want to do then, edible is usually the way to go. People dont like stuff junking up their house, no one really needs anything personalized with someone else’s wedding date, and even if you have people who don’t like that particular type of edible thing you will have more than enough people willing to snag someone else’s as an extra for themselves. People are usually willing to tuck an extra box of truffles in their purse to eat on the car ride home, but most people don’t want/need multiple heart shaped bottle openers or to haul bulky candles or glassware home.

We’re doing s’mores! We’re going to have a bonfire outside (our venue is in the woods near a lake) and people can take them home or make them there. We got little cellophane bags and put enough for 2 s’mores in each with a cute little tag. Pretty cheap and something fun to do, if they choose to have them while at the reception.

We did personalized coffee packets, which I was SO excited about! But hardly anyone took them 🙁 So it was sort of a bust. In retrosepct I would have skipped favors and saved the money!

thattallweirdo : We gave a small box of Lindt dark chocolate truffles.

thattallweirdo : My fiance insisted that our wedding favors be edible, so we are getting chocolates from a local chocolate factory that we will put in little sheer favor bags to match our colors. Some of my favorite wedding favors that I’ve seen at other weddings are a keychain bottle opener (the bottle opener part was very subtle), card games (one favor per table for people to play during the reception and then to take home), mini plants, homemade jam, and bath salts.

We are probably going to skip favors. We are doing a huge dessert bar full of pie, brownies, coookies, and candy and supplying little to-go boxes for what’s left so I guess that could count?

I overordered on our cupcakes on purpose and let guests take them home. Didn’t do anything formal with our names or dates or such.
