a well-done CD, telling your story through your songs, or featuring songs from the wedding. although, i got a CD at a wedding i went to and couldn’t tell you where it is…  i got a seed packet at another wedding, but being an apartment-dweller i had no place to plant them. hard to find something everyone will enjoy!

of course, there’s always the question: are favors necessary?

We skipped favors. We put the $2-$3pp (or more!) into the food and booze instead and everyone raved about the food and booze while NOBODY complained about not getting a favor!

I didn’t do favors either…I did really nice welcome bags intead(it was a destination wedding).

Have you thought about something totally different, like making a donation in honor of all your wedding guests? It doesn’t have to be a huge amount, but if there’s a cause you and your fiance support, or would like to, you could make a donation in honor of all your family and friends who are celebrating with you and put a note to that effect in your program, welcome bag, etc. I think people think that’s really nice.

from all of the people I have asked about this same issue, they say you don’t HAVE to do a favor, and if you do one, make it edible.
