- Wedding: February 2014
I am getting married in Oct. We are thinking of just finger good because the wedding will be at 2 or 3 o’clock. I would appreciate some good but cheap fingers food ideas for around 100 people. We are not having alcholic. Both of our families have a bad history with it. My dad was a alcholic for the past 12 years before he died last year.
What we know we want
yellow punch – its got pineapple and orange juice in it. My mom got this from another wedding years ago and makes it every year at christmas. I really enjoy it.
Cheese ball and crakcers – this is a homemade recipe so it tastes much better than one you buy. We also have this every christmas.
wedding and groom cake
M&M – we don’t like the regular butter mints – customs M&M are super expensive. Our last name will start with a M anyway so it works out great.
Hersey kisses – almond. fark chocolate, cookies & creams, and hugs – maybe on tables like the favors
Strawberries and chocolate
since its in Oct. my fiance wants apples with caramel dipping sause – he said something about apple cider, but the cider might be to much with the punch.
We are also going to have water, dr. pepper, coke, diet coke, and spirte – not out on the table, but just incase some wants tht instead – I went to a wedding that did this and I was glad. I dd not like the alocholic they had and they did not have punch.
Things we are not sure about – we would not do them all – we want food, but not to much or to little. We do have people comming from out of town and state so we need something.
fruit trays – green/red apples, grapes, pineapple, oranges, and cantaloupe
vegetables trays- baby carrots, broccoli, grape tomatoes, celery, cucumber garnish with romaine lettuce – sauces – ranch, creamy ceaser, peanut better – for celery
finger sandwitches – ham and cheese? ham and biscuits? sauage and biscuits ? subway 6 foot sandwiches cut small instead of finger sandwitches?
a biscuit bar – my mom makes homemade strawberry jam, black berry and grape jelly. We also have someone that has bees so we can get fresh honey. We were thinking of getting the biscuits from cracker barrel. We could get county ham.
What do you think would good, but cheap wedding good? We don’t want so much food that the cakes are forgotten. I have read about how weddings had so much food and by the time the cake was cut it was not eaten much. Also read about how favor are not taken so thinking of skipping them.
We are going to get it catered, but still want some ideas. I want a cater so they can make some of the food if not all or most of it. They can set the food up at the wedding and make sure its looks good and everything is done. We are looking at a bar style so its like get your own plate and napkin and stuff. I don’t want to have to worry about if the food is going to up set up on my wedding day. Most wedding I have been to have done it this way.
