I would say it is doable but I think it depends on your sleuthing and expectations for the big ticket items – like catering. I think our all in catering costs for 120 people was about 80% of your budget, and while we went with a nice caterer, we didn’t go with the most expensive (we were probably more on the higher end of the midrange, but we also wanted a caterer who was capable of keeping food hot).

withluv : Everything!
lucreziab : My church doesn’t have anything like that. A basement or a reception area.

Haley2 : That can be doable. We did a wedding for 120 for that amount. Just make sure to make budget friendly but still quality decisions on big ticket items-Venue, catering, etc. We did not choose a cheap photographer, because pictures are extremely important to us, so we cut back in a few other places, for example having a very simple cake and minimal flowers.

It’s definitely doable! That’s very similar to our budget (closer to $20k) and guests amount. Our reception is at a golf course that includes catering, linens, etc. (Pretty much everything except music, photography, decorations, and attire). One area we are cutting back is flowers. My Future Sister-In-Law did her flowers for her wedding so she graciously offered to do ours, which will save us thousands! We are also very mindful with our attire budget, which has helped a lot.
ETA.. we’re in St. Louis so I’d imagine cost of living/pricing is similar to Cleveland!

I agree with others. I would start contacting venues and vendors for quotes to help you determine if that will be realistic for what you want. I think it is doable it will just take a lot of research to find the right venue and vendors. Your biggest cost will be your venue, food and photography and videography. You can shop davids bridal for a wedding dress, vista print for invites they have sales from time to time. I just ordered my invites this week for 50% off. My dress was less than $200. My bridemaids dresses were $60, I paid for there dresses. My veil I purchased from an etsy selller for $20.00. Cake topper I purchased from etsy. Take advantage of sales (they will come in handy). We are not doing menus or programs. They are not needed.
I was able to save money by getting a venue that allowed me to bring in outside catering and vendors. I know that’s its not a cheaper option for some areas but for us it is. I was able to find an event planner that offered DOC services, photography, catering, servers, bartenders, cake, dj servies and was able to save with a package deal. It took a lot of research to find them but we are happy. It saved us a lot of money. We also reseasrched another vendor who was able to provide the same services but it cost a little more but we liked the one that we chose better.
