We have a number of family and friends who aren’t big on dancing, and we love games anyway, so we’re thinking of having a table with board games and card games available.

I went to a wedding a few weeks ago where they had travel sized games on the tables, which was a lot less awkward than having a giant board game in the middle of the table. There were several of the older people who weren’t keen on dancing who played them and I think it was actually a kind of cool idea. I think they had travel Scrabble, Sorry, Yahtzee, and some decks of Uno cards. Just make sure they don’t take up too much room on the table if you go this route.

I think you could actually make the prizes thing kind of cute. You could give away little stuff like a mix CD with your favorite songs, a case of your favorite soda, or other things that the two of you have in common. Just don’t overdo it and give away stuff you can’t afford, like gift cards and movie passes. That would get a little over the top haha!

I’m not even having games at my shower because I just don’t like them.  I’m not sure if a wedding is the place for games personally but I think you have to read your guest list and determine what the guests will like.

I read in a magazine something about this.  They suggested limbo and hula hoops on the dance floor.  I thought it was a cute idea but my fiance wasn’t too keen on it so we’re passing.
