My mom paid for it which was the gift. My father contributed a little and his parents contributed pretty much nada. My mom gave me cute little monogrammed towels at my shower (wasn’t expecting a gift from her since she’s done so much and then some!) and my mother in law and sister in law showed up empty handed.

Well, they’re paying for the whole wedding (including my gown, and they bought a tux for FI). They’ve also purchased a lot of things from our registry (ranging from the sous vide my Fiance wanted to small serving pieces). I know that my dad is giving Fiance his good watch and I’m sure my mom is giving me some jewelry but I have no idea what. I’m sure I’m overlooking things. And there are probably a few things that I don’t know about yet.

Mine will probably make a few small contributions to the wedding but they also really want to get me a Kitchenaid mixer.  😀

My parents paid for half the wedding, so that was their gift.

The in-laws gave us some random gift cards & claimed they did not know what we wanted.  (Yet everyone else managed to locate the store we are registered at?)

Both sets of parents are contributing some money, so I consider that the gift. My mom said she wanted to get me something else (she doesn’t even know what) but I keep insisting she shouldn’t… we’ll see. FI’s parents love gift cards so I wouldn’t be surprised if we get one from them, but I would be totally okay with just the monetary wedding help 🙂

Both Fiance and my parents will be giving us a specified amount of money as they have done with both his brother’s wedding and all my siblings’ weddings. Usually the money is given after the wedding but both sets of parents have told us if we needed the money earlier to help out with wedding expenses, they are more than happy to gift us early.

Both of our parents helped us pay for the wedding. They both gave us gifts at the shower. For the wedding gifts, they gave us checks.

My parents are paying for our entire wedding and our 14 day honeymoon and I am sure they will buy us pieces of our china as that is something really important to my mom.

edit per OP’s request: no my parents didn’t say that was their gift but it’s so much money, I wouldn’t expect much else…theres not much more to gift us. lol.

My parents paid for certain parts of the wedding (venue fee, newlywed breakfast, and part of my dress), and will be gifting us something big for the house we are about to purchase. We’ve offered up options ranging from $800-$4500, and we’ll see what they choose

My mom paid for our ceremony and reception so that was her gift to us. DH’s parents gave us $1k but also paid for the flowers and Rehearsal Dinner.

It was understood that my mothers contribution was our gift and I would have NEVER accepted anything else from her. What she gave us was above and beyond what was ever expected. And yes, she did give us a card. DH’s parents definitely didn’t have to give us the gift money but we kind of knew they were going to anyway. His brother was married a few years ago and they did the same thing for him and his wife.
