After watching many wedding gown shows, looking at pictures, reading etc ETC…I am beginning to think my gown is too plain =( In all honesty, there isn’t much on it. It is satin, with some beading on the chest and a line going down the side. Some on the semi-cathedral train as well.
It is what i like, could afford and found, at the time.
I guess i am feeling the “on nos” did i get the right gown?
Anyone ever feel this way? It is a bit too late for me to reconsider anything else. I just wanted to know if any other pretty lady out there, had these feelings. Thanks

I have given this rant before but I get so angry when magazines and tv shows make women feel like they’re “plain” if their dress isn’t super trendy, couture, blingy etc. The reason they advertise it so heavily is because it makes the wedding industry lots of $$$. More bling = higher prices, therefore bling is SO IN right now. It’s not for everyone. Some women prefer a lot of detail and some prefer a more simple look, neither one is wrong. If you’re worried about your look as a whole, I’m sure adding a veil and shoes, makeup etc. will bring it all together and provide the detail you’re hoping for.
Sometimes really simple dresses are nice because the bride looks very natural and “herself” in them. Too much bling can be distracting on some girls.
I’m sure it’s beautiful.

Oh, it does look fine on me, but no, unfortunatly, i do not have any pictures of it ON me. Just a model. I went for my first fitting last monday. When it is all said and done, i will take a picture =)

Don’t worry about your dress being plain. Simple can be beautiful too, and often looks better than dresses with too much going on. I agree with Moja Milosc – the wedding industry just wants to make as much money from you as possible.
If you’re really worried about your dress being plain, why not add some accessories (e.g. embellished sash, nice jewellery). Or maybe have a statement headpiece – birdcage veils are gorgeous and goes better with simpler dresses.

Aw, I think simple dresses are elegant!
If you’re dying for some more bling, why not start playing with your accessories? The benefit is that you can probably wear your accessories after the big day with a variety of outfits. 🙂
