So, I flew to New York for the day just to go to Kleinfeld’s. I was debating between two dresses and yup, I felt a lot of pressure. Not only from them, but from myself also. I figure I flew all the way there for this, brought my mother and mr. with me…I felt as though I had to decide or it was all for nothing.
I went there feeling prety sure about which dress was my first choice and which was my second….from the Kleinfeld website.
I finally picked the dress I thought I wanted for the last few years.
I now feel as though I don’t know what I want and I don’t know if it looks good on me. I’m not sure if I picked it because I thought everyone else would like it. I know online most ladies swoon over it…but is that why I picked it? I don’t know what I like anymore.
Just to top it off, I feel as though the bridemaid dresses I had in mind (though haven’t purchased) might not match well. I don’t know if there’s enough of a cohesive look. But that’s the least of my worries right now.
I just feel as though I don’t know myself anymore. I am so stressed…not sleeping..I’m freaking out.

@Principessa Bunny: Aww hang in there hon, it’s so easy to forget why you loved a dress enough to have picked it when you’re not wearing it anymore. You know that feeling everyone describes when they loved a dress, saying they never want to take it off? I think that’s because the only moments we’re sure of our dresses are when we’re in them. Luckily you’ll be wearing it on your wedding day and I imagine you’ll feel great 🙂 Post a photo if you have one, some positivity from the hive will do wonders.

@jennmariee: Thank you! I’m so indecisive….Did I mention I put a pricey deposit on it. I also asked them to make a few chages to it….it’s all adding up so quickly. I partially feel as though because the gown is in my opinion pricey to begin with, that they’re taking advantage of me. Overcharging for every little change. I’ll post a pic, you’re right.

Dress regret is normal and very common. Do you have pics of the dress? I bet we can convince you that you made the right choice! 🙂

I’m so sorry you’re stressing about this! I’ve been to Kleinfeld’s before (when my Maid/Matron of Honor was getting married) and agree- they lay the pressure on thick. I find them to overcharge for everything – so my advice would be to get your dress altered by someone you trust who is more local to you! Also, do you think your dress doubts might be just sticker shock??

@jasonkatie2014: Thanks. You’re right on. I think a big part of it is sticker shock. I just feel as though if the dress is maybe laking for the price and in making it my ultimate dream dress with all the alterations adding up…it’s just so expensive.

In all honesty, I feel as though for the amount of money being spent on this dress it better show. When I’m normally the type of woman who doesn’t like to show labels- though, I will wear designer pieces. I feel no need to show off. But it’s my wedding right? Oh, trying to justify anyway I can.

@legenwaitforitdary: No, I don’t. They wouldn’t allow until the deposit was made..but at that point I couldn’t get back into it, my appointment was over. I don’t understand why since all the dresses have been seen on the show. They are so strange.

@Principessa Bunny: um, that’s one fabulous dress!! How does your guy feel? I know I didn’t feel better until I showed my fiance the pictures of me in my dress. (I had a huge dress melt-down like, 2 days after putting the deposit down. I know for sure that I’d still be feeling crummy if I didn’t show him). I think it’s normal to just have the “omg is this IT” feeling because there are just way too many options!

@jasonkatie2014: I agree they do overcharge. I hated my experience there and I would never go back. However, if you want one of their “exclusives” then I guess you have no choice.

@gelaine22: ugh so agree. The woman we had was texting on her phone the whole time – pulled a dress that was absolutely the opposite of what she wanted (and way out of her price range!)- when she said she didn’t like it, and explained what she wanted, the woman replied “Well, here’s the back room! You go look for something!”
ummmmmmmwhat?!
