I would stress the words semi-formal just so she gets the picture. If she does end up going with the hoochie dress, whatever, it’s going to be her that’ll get the weird looks from other guests.

There always has to be one… :/

At least she’s not a member of your wedding party or other centrally important guest.

I agree to putting semi formal on to your website.

There is always someone who dresses poorly. One wedding I went to that was formal a girl rocked up in short short mmmmm and you know what she’s the one who looked silly.

Don’t let these kind of things that are out of your control spoil your day

@givemecouture:  This. Beyond all of that, it’s out of your control.

@HisIrishPrincess:  haha, this is a great idea.

I would also post something on the website about the appropriate attire.

@geekspice:  I love this! I could totally see this working, if it’s done in a lighthearted way.

Why is it important to note that she’s plus size?

I wouldn’t say a word.  She’s obviously proud of the dress, and there’s no way you can say anything without sounding like a jerk.  She probably thinks the dress IS semi-formal.  You have no idea what your other guests are wearing, right?

The only person who’s going to look bad is her.  It’s not your fault that she doesn’t have sense enough to dress appropriately for an event.

Let her wear what she wants. She will be the one to look silly. It will in no way reflect on you.

@HisIrishPrincess:  i don’t think this is appropriate at all.

neither is putting up guidelines on a website.

there is nothing you can do, except laugh.  there are way bigger problems in the world than worrying about what some co-worker will wear to your wedding.

@LadyMonster:  I think this was just mentioned because the dress she showed wouldn’t actually fit her- beyond being, tight, it might just be the wrong size. And nobody wants that!
