- Wedding: August 2011
One of my guests and his wife wrote me today that they’re coming to the wedding but they will be coming in later because they have two weddings that day and still want to be able to spend some time with both brides. It’s totally fine with me and I’m just happy that they’ll be there at all.
However, he told me to not even worry about including him in the meals and that they can grab something to eat on the way (the weddings are 1 hour drive apart) but that he would be there at aproximately 6pm. In my timeline that happens to fall right when the meal is starting to be served at my wedding. But even then I can’t be sure that 1) my timeline is going to happen just as planned or 2) that they’ll even get there at that time (traffic, staying later at the other wedding, etc).
But wouldn’t it be weird if everybody is eating and he and his wife are there sitting at the table with no food? Should I tell them that I’ll reserve food anyway and to not eat on the way? If they get there at 7 instead of 6 then everybody will be done eating.
I’m sure I’m making a big deal out of this but I just want them to be comfortable and at the same time not waste space or food (it’s a sit down dinner not buffet)
