Definitely reasonable, especially if it includes lashes and airbrush (I’ve had to pay extra for each). I think on average for hair/makeup for the Midwest-located weddings I’ve been in was ~$200 before tip.

I’m paying $75 each for makeup and $95 each for hair, and I’m in the NE US.

Yours sounds reasonable.

Depends on your area. In mine traditional makeup was 40, airbrush was 60 and I feel like hair was 60 to 100ish. Could’ve been 80 but it was a year and a half ago so its exact cost is slipping my mind  I’m in the midwest though.

Does anyone know if it tends to be cheaper if you go to a salon the morning of the wedding rather than having the hair & makeup artists come to you?

I’ve just started looking into prices & I’ve had total sticker shock! I was hoping to pay for my hair & makeup plus hair for my three bridesmaids, but all the vendors I’ve talked to so far have crazy minimums! And a trial costs almost as much as getting your hair & makeup done for the actual event! I’m trying to figure out more economical options.

beeleez :  I had sticker shock at first, too. $1500ish for me and THREE others, but that includes a trial for me, pre-style blowout, and lashes. My friend pointed out that it’s one of the most important things after photographer and dress. You would ruin your day if you didn’t like how you looked. But, of course, there’s always the free option of doing it yourself and just practicing beforehand.

The $1500ish doesn’t include the travel fee, which for me is either $100 per artist or $60 per artist depending on which vendor I choose.

beeleez :  Yes, it’s cheaper to go to a salon than have someone come to you. When someone comes to you, they charge you for the cost of travel and the  time spent traveling

I live in Southern California for my bridesmaid it’s $165 not including tip. It’s definitely going to vary by location and maybe even by what you want done. I’m useing someone who specializes in wedding makeup and hair. It may be less if you go into a salon and just ask for hair to be done.
