We are having a traditional church wedding, then the reception is a country club 20 mins away so we will do a cocktail hour and then a plated dinner.

@MangoLover4Life:  Umm…the church rental is $200.  The Country club rental is $1500 and the food is probably gonna be $35 a plate. Not sure on the cocktail hour tho it might count as the open bar. I think thats like $3500. Im not 100% sure since Im not the one paying for it. Embarassed

@MangoLover4Life:  It was hard to find for us. We took a year to decide where to get married. We have our budget and we are trying to stick to it.  I have seen some amazing tent receptions, like over the top gorgeous.  You could always do that to save on the cost of the space rental.  For us we are having a laid back rehearsal dinner since the reception is gonna be so ‘Nice’ We are getting a bbq company here to cater it for $8 a plate, we are using the land behind my parents community club house $100 rental, and will rent tables and chairs. Maybe a DJ.

@MangoLover4Life:  We looked at renting restaurant. Beware, they can be really expensive! Basically unless you are having 75+ people or however many they would typically serve on a sat night youre gonna be paying for extra plates.  This one place we were considering was definitely the best but for us to rent the entire place for our rehearsal dinner we would have to buy 75 plates and pay $35 for each of them.  That didnt count alcohol, or dj/band, decorations. It was too much!

@MangoLover4Life:  Dont feel bad. I dont! We got engaged Sept 30th 2011, and are getting married Sept 21, 2013. Everyone was expecting a wedding date right away. Literally that is the first question my mom asked when I told her we were engaged….”really mom he just asked me to marry him 2 mins ago!”  We did a TON of research and when we finally made a decision we knew it was the best one for us!
