The best thing you can do is just plan the wedding YOU can afford. Do not rely on anyone else’s money. Aything you get is a generous gift and just plan on as if you aren’t expecting anything. Make it clear to EVERYONE you guys are paying for it yourselves and you will be much happier in the long run. You may have have a buffet and not a sit down dinner. Wine and beer only other then top shelf liqour, Read those budget wedding books on Amazon Kindle (some of them are free for Prime memebers) 

We are getting married on a sunday moring and having a bruch reception then going out with our younger friends afterwards.

And if you have a large enough home, or know someone who is willing to let you borrow theirs for a few hours you could save on the venue this way. This way your main expenses would be food, decor, and attire. But I definitely agree that you should do solely what you and your Fiance can afford and not rely on family. I know this from experience! It can be a headache when other people’s money gets involved.
