So during my waiting-bee inspiration kick, I’ve found a ton of ideas that I love but they wouldn’t go with my vision, they’re too expensive, I’m not crafty enough to attempt it (for DIY’s), etc. And I’m sure throughout my wedding planning process I will find a dozen more things like this. I’d like this board to be a place where bees can browse ideas, where you can post those ideas you loved and tearfully parted with but still want to share, and where waiting bees or bees just starting to plan can browse for inspiration when their wedding vision isn’t quite set in stone yet. I’ll start with 2 ideas:
The first is a bouquet of autumn leaves, which includes the tutorial to do it yourself. Although I want a fall wedding, I discarded this idea because I really want a small cascading/loose bouquet and not something tightly held together.

The second is an updo that I am absolutely in love with!!! I would sooo do this for my wedding hairstyle, but my SO really wants my hair down or half up/half down (boo on him *pout* I may just do it anyways! :p ). No tutorial, unfortunately, but it is a gorgeous style and definitely unique yet still elegant. I’m including 4 pictures (all on one image), to capture it at every angle. It’s Amanda Seyfried at the 66th Golden Globes. I also love her make up in these pictures!

I really wanted to do this with flowers on the backdrop / altar thing at our outdoor wedding, but I decided it’d be too much of a pain. We’re doing DIY flowers, and I don’t want to spend the morning of my wedding stringing a gazillion flowers on fishing line….
So instead we’re going to do this, so we can make the paper dot garlands ahead of time and just hang a few vases of flowers that morning.
I also originally wanted bunting, but Fiance thinks it looks like a used car saleslot. Plus I don’t want to look at pictures later and think it looks really dated, since it’s pretty trendy right now…

@lolot: Your Fiance is funny, I never thought of that but it does remind me of a used car sales lot.
My dream was to do a huge flower arch for our outdoor wedding. Like, an arch literally made entirely of flowers. My inspiration was the arch from Breaking Dawn Part 1 but with lots and lots of colors:
But since that would obviously cost much more money that we have. We are going to do this (except with out those flower balls at the bottom):

@lolot: I love the idea of flowers on fishing line. I may have to keep that in mind. It could be made ahead of time if you used silk flowers maybe?

@mylittleviolett: Ok, I have to admit, I love the Twilight wedding, especially the flowers that hung from the trees like Spanish moss. Wish I could afford enough flowers to do that.

I considered having bowls of fish as centrepieces which people could take home as favours… but then I thought that this was very dangerous… bowls can be smashed and fish can die. What if it’s hot on the day? Who would feed the fish? Also, how would guests take them home? In a plastic bag? What if the bag bursts in the car? How would they keep the fish alive in their hotel rooms? What if parents are forced into taking a fish they don’t want by their kids, and then the kids neglect them? What would we do with any leftover fish? It seemed a bit cruel.
I also wanted my animals there…but that was never going to happen. Too many practical issues… total non-starter.

@ForeverBirds: me too … and the bark benches that the guests sat on during the ceremony. They looked like they were meant to be there, it was awesome.

@mylittleviolett: Loved the benches too. Honestly, loved pretty much all of it. Wish I had that kinda money to spend on decorations.
