My wedding is only a week away, and I have a double ear infection. I can’t hear, and my sinuses are so bad that I sound hilarious when I talk. But got some good medicine from my doctor so hopefully things will clear up enough that I can hear my vows next Saturday. LOL
Any other brides who got sick so close to your wedding?! I feel awful that I’m sick.

I haven’t had my wedding yet and it’s still somewhat far off so I can’t relate EXACTLY – but as someone who gets frequent ear infections I will say it’s great you’ve gone to your doctor and gotten medicine, you should certainly be feeling MUCH better (and be able to hear lol) by the time of your wedding 😊 just be sure to take the medicine and take care of yourself (sleep, water, you know the drill haha) until then. Good luck bee, I’m sure your wedding day is going to be wonderful!

If it’s a whole week away and you’ve got antibiotics you’ll be good to go!! 🙂 good you’re getting this over with a week before and not a day.

alikat93 : biene : Thanks y’all!! I should be good by next Saturday. And I orginally did not want to go to the doctor, but my mom was persistent so I went! I’m glad I did!!
Congrats on y’alls wedding days that are coming up! That’s so exciting, and I am sure y’all with both have a wonderful wedding day!

I don’t want to sound all wishy-washy, but I just wanna share my 2 cents. Antibiotics may be doing you more harm than good for an ear infection, especially since it sounds like yours is viral and not bacterial. Might I suggest trying garlic oil? Its antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties may benefit your symptoms in more ways than one. Also, increasing your vitamin C, D3, and Zinc intake are all great ways to boost your immune system to naturally fight it off quicker (as well as any other illness you may be dealing with!). Avoiding sugar, processed foods, and dairy (which can increase mucus and make both your sinuses and ear infection worse) might be a good idea for now, if you want to feel better asap. 🙂
Ear infections usually clear up on their own pretty quick, so whatever you do you should totally be fine by next week!

I agree that you should be feeling WAY better by your wedding.
Just wanted to add, please for the love of all that is good do not abandon antibiotics in favour of garlic oil because that is nutty and dangerous. My husband currently has a double ear infection situation, and his eardrum ruptured in one ear yesterday.
And he definitely initially had a common cold (aka virus) but pathogenic bacteria are opportunistic. Ever since starting the antibiotics yesterday he is already WAYYYYY better (and at least his other ear is no longer going to explode).

everridiculous : Thanks! I’ll definitely continue taking the antibiotics! And sorry about your husband, I’m sure a busted ear drum doesn’t feel great!

W2M17 : I hope the medicine kicks in soon and you are better in time for your big day 🙂

kiram : Haha that is the worst advice ever! As someone who has had both eardrums explode due to infection and had to have them both reconstructed with skin grafts from my head I’m gonna say keep on listening to your doctor’s advice instead.
Good luck for your wedding next week bee! I’m sure you’ll be back in tip top shape by then 🙂

kiram : *blink* dairy does not “increase mucous” go peddle your snake oil elsewhere, you can tell when someone has an infection, its a medical fact, dont diagnose people on the internet.

W2M17 : I got an ear infection at the end of our honeymoon–and I wasn’t cleared to fly back because my eardrum was at risk of rupturing. The walk-in doctor in Hawaii gave me a steroid shot (to the butt) and everything cleared up in like 24 hours.
I had an eczema breakout right before my wedding–I got some good makeup and you can’t tell at all in the photos, thank god! Things happen–but if you roll with it and try to limit your stress, it will work out just fine in the end.

i agree with all the bees, you should be feeling way better by your wedding if you follow your doctor’s instructions.
tmi: i woke up on my wedding day with absolutely terrible diarrhea – thank you nervous stomach. nearly misesd my hair appointment bc i couldn’t get out of the bathroom and had to pick up pepto bismol at a gas station on the way there. i got to the salon and was like “hi, i have an appointment. where is your bathroom?”. i didn’t eat or drink anything all day until 8pm, but i also didn’t get sick while wearing a giant poofy ball gown, so the take away here is that I WON. 🙂
