Hey weddignbee’s…1 time post…but love story short i had a “bridezilla” moment and cancelled my reception venue. Some funds didn’t come thru AFTER we sent the Save-The-Date Cards so money is tight and we have 140 people coming for the wedding in 2 WEEKS, JULY 21ST!! Our venue is in Safety Harbor FL and we want to keep the reception close since we have alot of out of towners. TRYING to stay under $500! Everything else we already have THANK GOD but just need a venue!! I’m open to community centers, vacation houses, ANYTHING!! I CANT FIND ANYTHING HELP!!

@DIYyoungbride: is your catering confirmed? Were you self catering? What day if the week and time of day?

@peachacid: Tried that…I think i’m going to end up at their gazebo but since the wedding is outside didn’t want an outside reception since it’ll be SUPER HOT!

@DIYyoungbride: ….uhhhhh, I’d suggest you either go back to that venue on your knees and apologize and ask if they’ll cancel the cancellation…or find someone with a big house and a nice back yard…..

- Wedding: November 2013 - St. Augustine Beach, FL
Try local parks and the local German American Society or Italian American Society or Greek Society. Any garden societies or local community centers? http://www.cityofsafetyharbor.com/DocumentCenter/Home/View/161
Maybe the Boat Club? http://www.safetyharborboatclub.com/ActivesMeets/ActivesMeets.asp
I would call everyone to see what’s available this late in the game. Since it’s a Sunday you may find something but two weeks out is going to be tough. Lots of Holiday Inns, maybe one will be desperate for Sunday night business.

Could you rent a tent and have your reception on a public beach for free?
And maybe offer some umbrellas for shade? Or even battery operated fans/paper fans.
Im sure your guests will be just fine! Theyre there for you!
