I broke a nail the day before the wedding.  I went with an acrylic just on the broken nail.  No one knew , though I kept playing with the odd thick nail.  I had never had an acrylic before and it was a little weird!

Arcylics sound like the least stressful option. How terrible would it be if you went through the hassle of getting just two done, then break another nail? :/ It’s a pain when they need to be filled or removed, but they’ll look so pretty during the wedding and honeymoon! 🙂

Tough, tough call.. but since nails are important enough for you (re: hand photos), might as well make them all look uniform so you love the pics.  I really wanted to say to get two acrylics, but I have no idea how ‘off’ they would look from the real ones.

Otherwise- good luck and congrats on the wedding!

I would just cut them down to a less noticeable difference in length and get a french manicure – I think natural nails look a lot better than acrylic and shorter nails look really nice when manicured!

Agree with Future Mrs. Martin.  I would just cut them down to be a little more even and get them painted or french manicured.  I think that natural nails look better anyway, and then you won’t have to worryt about breaking another one if they’re a bit shorter.  Just my opinion.

I agree with Future Mrs. Martin – file them down a bit shorter and get french manicure.  I had a nice length nail (not too short not long either) with a very pale pink – kind of like Giada DiLaurentis’ nails – and they looked amazing in the ring and bouquet pics

@Mrs. Mike- I broke the nail during the meltdown with the fuse box…  It was a horrible jagged mess!  I just cut that out to make a readable chunk.  That was a very bad night!

And yeah, I couldn’t handle a full set of acrylics, especially knowing that I’d still be wearing them for our honeymoon… so I just did the one.  Really, no one could tell!

I agree with PP about trimming them all down to a closer match and maybe picking a pretty neutral color for your manicure. I think a French would call attention to the difference in length.

This may sound crazy, but two of mine broke and I glued the actual real nails back on.  It was literally two days before the wedding, and I used to do that all the time.  I would either krazy glue the nails back on and let them fall off day after the wedding (it will happen easily) or get the acrylic for the two.

I agree with those who suggested cutting/filing the rest of your nails down to a similar length and then going with that.  Personally, I’ve never had acrylics and I think they would have driven me crazy at my wedding.

FWIW, I chipped one nail the day before the wedding, so I just asked the nail tech to file all of my nails down a little to make the difference less noticable.
