Bees, I am in full on panic mode. My skin hasn’t really broken out since my teen years. I’m now 28 and getting married in 5 days! Yesterday I woke up with a big zit on my left cheek and I woke up this morning with 2 more. I don’t think it’s stress related since I’m really excited for the wedding, and I’ve been taking BC consecutively for 4 months now to skip my period, so maybe it’s somehow hormone related? Sorry if that’s Too Much Information.
I take very good care of my skin, wash my face before bed, don’t wear foundations, don’t touch my cheeks, etc . My “routine” has been working for years and yet, here I am playing connect the dots right before saying “I DO”. Anyone have any amazing zit zapping advice?

If you don’t regularily break out and you’ve been taking HBC for 4 months with no problems, I think your breakouts are probably nerves related. Excitement is sort of like “stress” in a way!
I would spot treat your breakouts with crushed (uncoated) asprin and water (mix it together to make a paste). Sounds weird, but it always insta-kills any breakouts I get.

@DeathByDesign:Oh! Great idea! I’m going to have the same problem, I just know it!

HEY fellow August Bride!!!! I’m getting married the weekend after yours!! I had already started breaking out just over a month ago. TEA TREE OIL is my recommendation! It has a distinctively strong smell but its incredible for your skin. If you start now you should be good in 5 days, especially if its concentrated oil. Mine is clear again. HAPPY WEDDING!!
This is who carries it by me, do you have a store similar to this?

Thank you for your replies and recommendations! I appreciate it!

I second Teatreeoil. Strangely it’s an oil that clears your skin rather than making you break out. The only thing is wear it at night bc the smell is quite pungent. You can also get it at Sally’s Beauty. I’ll sometimes use this on my back and chest too.

Proactiv worked for me! Seriously after 3 days i saw a notable difference

I 2nd ProActiv… I haven’t used for a while but I have used it in the past and I notice results overnight. Drink a lot of water that should also help. Congrats!

They also have tea tree oil products at natural grocery stores. I use Desert Essence, and have heard really good things about Kiss my Face blemish stick. Check Whole Foods, Trader Joes, or any other natural store you have (they even have it in the “natural” section at my regular store)
Tea tree oil works super fast, and doesn’t irritate (I feel like dousing your skin in benzol peroxide will just irritate it, which isn’t really going to help much)

I know the Body Shop used to sell Tea Tree Oil CONCEALER and I think I’ve seen it at the drug store before. IT WORKS SO WELL! Also, you can wear make up with it b/c it’s a concealer!

Be careful with Proactive. If you don’t break out regularly, it may make you break out more or over dry your skin.
Tea Tree Oil is awesome! I have the whole tea tree oil skin care system from The Body Shop. Does wonders!!
