My fiance and I are hoping to get married at Truro registry office, Cornwall, UK in summer 2020.
There will be around 30 guests that will be made up of family, friends and elderly grandparents who will most probably want to leave the reception early ‘to avid the traffic ‘be home before it gets dark’ etc.
We are now looking for a reception venue. We don’t have a huge budget, but would like somewhere that offers food and drink.
Does anyone have any ideas? Where did you have your wedding reception? We have looked at places in Perranporth and St Ives but need some new ideas.
Thank you in advance.

If you’ve got 30 guests, what about renting a whole restaurant? I’m sure you’d be able to bring in your own decorations, and make it look fab!
I loooove the portgwidden beach cafe in st ives – gorgeous views over towards gwithian for sunset. Only thing… you may already know this but parking in st ives in the summer is hopeless! You might need to organise a shuttle bus or something from st erth or carbis bay?
Gosh, you’re making me wish that we were getting married in Cornwall now… I’m an exeter bee, but I’ve loved st ives since I was tiny!

misste : Agree with PP. I’m going to suggest the Pandora Inn? It’s a (nice) pub that overlooks the water and only a short dribe from Truro. I also went to a wedding at the Alverton in Truro but might be pricey and too big – but it was lovely.

Did you look at Blue Bar in Perranporth?
I’d honestly avoid St Ives at all costs in the summer. Not because it’s rubbish, but it’s just so difficult to park and get around with the tourists.
What kind of vibe are you looking for?
It’s a bit further afield but the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens near Penzance do weddings
