Fiance and I booked our venue At the beginning of this year, can I also add that it was “my second” choice.
Just now I was having a conversation with my uncle about the dreamy venue that I wanted so much. I went on and on about it and I don’t know what possessed me to check their website and look at the availability. I was in complete shock when I saw that they were no longer booked for my day. Now I’m sitting in bed wondering what I can or should do, this whole time I thought the venue was booked. My current venue is almost paid off but maybe just maybe there is someone getting married on the same day that is looking for a venue (fingers crossed). HELP….. I can’t sleep

jezerfu: I think firstly we need to know if it is THIS November?
If it is this year then it’s pretty late to change venue, I’d have thought.
In terms of the process, I think you’d need to check the contract you have with the current venue for cancelling there, then work out if it is financially and logisically possible (vendors).

It is this November
I have a meeting this week and I will see what could be done. They do catering outside their venue and I would still book them for catering but just change venue.
hopefully tomorrow I’ll wake up and realize that I over reacted.
Thank you for your response I really appreciate it, always know I could count on these wedding boards for opinions and support.

jezerfu: I would have thought that after checking your contract, the next big consideration would be whether or not your wedding invitations have gone out. It’s totally up to you, but if they already have then I don’t think I would want to have to contact all the guests to change the information.
Also, perhaps before you agonise any further over it all, you should actually contact your ‘number one’ venue and make sure that they are, in fact, available. The online availability info might not be accurate.
Sleep on it, and see how you feel in the morning. Changing venues at this stage of the game would be a big job, but if you can and you think it would make you happier, do it! Good luck!!

jezerfu: Do the number one venue allow outside catering? Ours won’t let us have any sort of food or drink that isn’t provided by them. What made you choose the venue you have? I know that the number one was booked, but there must have been something about the second one that made you choose it?
