Just got this gorgeous rose the other day as a wedding present from my wonderful Maid/Matron of Honor. IT’S SO PRETTY!!!
So when we first started looking at dresses, I tried on this gorgeous, lacy key-hole back dress. And it was beautiful on me, but it was 1) waaaaaay too lacy for my taste (i.e. itchy), and 2) it made my back look so bare with just the two small pieces I had, it would have looked imcomplete to me without my rose tattoo, which I’ve wanted since before high school. So I passed on that dress. (However, I found an OffBeatBride article all about key-hole backs and portrait back pieces; if you have one and no dress yet, look into it, they look awesome!) When I found THE dress, I found that the corset lacing on the rear also frames my back very well, but it doesn’t make it look quite so empty. After looking at my dress and how it fits me, my Maid/Matron of Honor said she’d get me this lovely rose piece since I’ve wanted it for so long and she couldn’t think of a more awesome wedding present. I could not agree more.
Fiance and I are also planning on getting tattoos on our ring fingers. Only problem there is finding the perfect design for us. Slaves to the needle, we are.
Anyone else getting/have ink done specifically for the wedding? Any scarification/piercings/body mods?

No specifically for the wedding ink, but over 15 tattoos now (I’ve lost count, haha). I love that! It looks beautiful! My only caution to you with getting the ring finger is that it will probably fade quickly. I have a bird on one of my fingers and it’s SO faded after less than a year 🙁

I would like to get one of my tats touched up. It was my first one and over 10 years old. It’s on my left shoulder and in black, and it’s starting to fade.

That’s beautiful! I only have one little bird tattoo right now (on my back). I’d love to get more done on my back before the wedding but I’m so indecisive!

Thanks for the compliments, ladies!
@Miss Otter: Yeah, I’ve heard that they fade easily. Feet too. Fortunately, the artist I frequent is freelance, does touch-ups for free, and travels to my city regularly. If I didn’t have her, I don’t think I’d get the ring finger piece.

My Fiance and I are getting a “ring” tattoo the day after the wedding 🙂

I got my tattoo back in 2010 as a congrats to myself on losing some weight and having the lady-balls to go through a surgery I’ve needed since I was about 16.
Kinda hard to see, but there’s a lily-esque flower in the middle and a few stars. The lily is going to get filled in with the light blue that’s my wedding color and some of the stars are going to be the birthstone of our children.

I have a butterfly on my back that will be showing, and were having a tattoo artist come to our reception and tattoo wedding bands on our ring fingers 🙂

I got cover-up tattoos specifically so I could wear my hair up and be super-proud 🙂 It was long overdue. A few years ago, I got some words in black behind my ears and HOO BOY, I got really tired of people demanding to know, “What does that say?…No, REALLY, what does it say???” Not to mention, now I’m way more girly and feminine than I was when I got them, so big black blocky letters weren’t workin’. And speaking of not working, laser treatment is the f*cking devil! So much pain and a total waste of money.
So I got some lovely leaves and soft blue flowers to cover them up and couldn’t be happier. I’m going to have the giant fake-hair ballerina bun of my dreams. 🙂
Now my fiance feels left out and wants to get a tattoo for the wedding…we’ll see 😉

my husband and I used to always write little love notes to each other so we decided last week that we want one of each others notes on us. I can’t decide which one though.
