Our wedding reception is being held in an old historic building. When we signed the contract, it stated that we would need to purchase insurance for that day that would cover damages up to $1,000,000 in the city’s name. Has anyone else had to go through a process like this?

Very common. Unfortunately I can’t give you any names of carriers because I’m from Canada and we have different carriers…..
My venue requested that I have them as additional insured for $2mill.
It was pretty reasonable… $200 or so.

We had to do that for our art museum wedding. I think it cost a couple hundred? Maybe $200-250? Can’t remember exactly right now.
