Hi, I need some help with wording.
We have cocktail hour and a dinner reception at a different venue from our ceremony at the church. How would you word this at the bottom of the invitation?
Is “Refreshments, dinner, and dancing to follow” appropriate or is “Reception to follow” enough? We are also putting our wedding website (with details of the day) at the bottom of the invitation, and I will be including a reception card.

Reception to follow implies that your reception is at the same location and will be directly following the ceremony. If this is not the case then I would put something along the lines of “join us for dinner and dancing”.

I would include the name of the reception location (not th address though because of space and you have a reception card).
eg. “Reception to follow at the Main Hotel.”
You can include th dinner and dancing part, but I would leave it out for two reasons. 1) it is unnecessary information since you have it on your webpage and reception card and could clutter the invitation. Keeping the invitation simple is much nicer aesthetically, and 2) super strict etiquette says to not include this information. It’s a weird rule to me and easily ignorable if you want to, but just so you are aware.
