I am having my wedding on July 10th 2014. So only 5 months away. When is a proper time to send out save the dates and invitations. I was planning on sending invitations in mid March. That would give me about 2 solid months before the wedding. I know they say 4-6 weeks before the wedding, but knowing that my wedding is on the first week and a half of july. I need to have more time to focus on gaurenteed numbers for the caterer and bartender.

I would send out save the dates as soon as possible if you are doing them.. waiting any longer and you’ll be sending them out right before your invites which really defeats the purpose.
Your invite date looks good to me.
ETA : Normally your invites would be TOO soon, but since your wedding is a little after the 4th of july, I think it’s totally okay and expected

im a week after you. My Save-the-Date cards went out on Dec 2, and my invitations are going out May 26 with an RSVP date of July 5. That gives me about two weeks between RSVP deadline and wedding day. If you are sending out Save the Date cards, do it QUICK, otherwise there is no sense. I think the date for invitations is a wee bit early, since according to my math, that is about two and half months before the wedding, but its fine i guess.

If you are doing save the dates, get them out NOW! Invites need to be mailed six to eight weeks before- no sooner.
