We had the invitation, rsvp postcard and an info card that had the times and addresses of the ceremony and reception sites, our website and a map of the parking at the ceremony location (it’s a bit odd).

We are doing the RSVP Postcard, accomidations card, and a direction/map insert that will give you a map and written directions.

In addition to the invitation panel, we had the following inserts:

  • “Getting There” – This card opened up like a greeting card.  On the front were the written directions, and on the inside was a map.
  • “For Your Convenience” – This card listed our wedding website, and instructions for reserving rooms in the three blocks we set up.
  • “Celebrate” – Reception card
  • “Kindly Reply” – RSVP card

We had the invitation pocketfold style, and then rsvp, reception card and directions in the pocket.

We had an out of town wedding, but I decided against pocketfolds, because everytime I’ve been given all those inserts, I (and everyone else I know) forgets to bring them along to the wedding. So we just had the standard invite, a RSVP, and a reception card with address. Detailed maps and directions were on our website, which everyone was given the web address on the STD or if they asked for directions, etc.

I felt more eco-friendly (slightly less paper trash) and it also saves on printing costs for all the inserts and keeps postage costs down. Inserts w/ pocketfolds can easily bump you up higher per envelope!

I am sending the invite for the ceremony, invite for reception (with hotel info), response card, and response envelope.

We are planning to print a map to the ceremony and details about the shuttle to the reception for guests staying in the hotel where we have a block of rooms.  This will be in the rooms (or given to guests when they check in) of guests who check in Friday (for Sat wedding).
