Wedding Invitation time is upon me. The woman doing my invitations and I have been in correspondence recently and I have finally picked the style of invitation I wanted which I sent to her recently but then she sent me back an email that she needed some more details. She would like to know which inserts I would like in my invitation.
What inserts did you put with your invitations? I would love to hear a wide variety so I can decide what will work best for us. Oh yes our wedding is out of town for 100% of our guests so any suggestions would help a lot!!!

We had the invitation, rsvp postcard and an info card that had the times and addresses of the ceremony and reception sites, our website and a map of the parking at the ceremony location (it’s a bit odd).

We are doing the RSVP Postcard, accomidations card, and a direction/map insert that will give you a map and written directions.

In addition to the invitation panel, we had the following inserts:
- “Getting There” – This card opened up like a greeting card. On the front were the written directions, and on the inside was a map.
- “For Your Convenience” – This card listed our wedding website, and instructions for reserving rooms in the three blocks we set up.
- “Celebrate” – Reception card
- “Kindly Reply” – RSVP card

We had the invitation pocketfold style, and then rsvp, reception card and directions in the pocket.

We had an out of town wedding, but I decided against pocketfolds, because everytime I’ve been given all those inserts, I (and everyone else I know) forgets to bring them along to the wedding. So we just had the standard invite, a RSVP, and a reception card with address. Detailed maps and directions were on our website, which everyone was given the web address on the STD or if they asked for directions, etc.
I felt more eco-friendly (slightly less paper trash) and it also saves on printing costs for all the inserts and keeps postage costs down. Inserts w/ pocketfolds can easily bump you up higher per envelope!

I am sending the invite for the ceremony, invite for reception (with hotel info), response card, and response envelope.
We are planning to print a map to the ceremony and details about the shuttle to the reception for guests staying in the hotel where we have a block of rooms. This will be in the rooms (or given to guests when they check in) of guests who check in Friday (for Sat wedding).

We’re doing pocketfold invites with the main invitation, then inserts for Accommodations, Directions (with a map and written out directions), RSVP, and a song request card to send back with the RSVP (titled “Let’s Dance”).
I have a post with my drafts here:
