Help! My daughter is getting married in April. My family and I officially became members of the church where she’s getting married last summer. But, I am a preschool teacher there and have known some of the members for several years. It is a small congregation and we have quickly become acquainted with the rest of the members. The people my daughter and I know more personally will be sent an invitation.
The problem: Since it is a small church, her wedding will be included in announcements as we get closer to the date. I would like to let the rest of the congregation know we would love for them to attend the ceremony AND they are welcome to join us at the reception, which will be held at another location. I was told by the secretary to post an invitation on the board in the lobby. I don’t want them to feel obligated to buy a gift. But, I would like to know how many plan to attend the reception. Space is not an issue and we are preparing the food ourselves, so we just need a head count to insure we have enough food. I printed her invitations myself and have extra stationary. I can print one with special wording on it. I also have RSVP cards I could leave for them. Any suggestions on wording??
