I didnt use them on the invitation itself but I used it on the petal enclosure thing we used so when people removed the invite they would see the picture.  I wasnt too sure about it at first but ive gotten a ton of compliments on it!

A friend of mine had her invites done by her photographer. As you unfolded the invite it revealed a new photo of the couple. It was very original. I liked it! Wish I had pics.

ETA: Now that I looked at the links provided above, my friend’s invite looked exactly like the tri-fold one in that last link!

I didn’t, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. The reason we aren’t is that pictures tend to make invites look more casual (at least, the ones I’ve seen) and our wedding is going to be pretty formal. Plus, I’m not sure I want my mug plastered all over something might keep forever before I lose some more weight, but that’s more of a personal issue. 😀

I think this one is pretty neat–I like that the picture doesn’t have any text over it. Some people do printed vellum over the pic, and to me that kind of ruins it, because then you have words all over everyone’s faces.

I think we are going to put a photo onto a sticker to seal the envelope with.

What about including an engagement picture in with the inserts? I’ve seen that done, and I might just print up a bunch of 4x6s and do it myself when we send invites.
