Set up hotel blocks and then set up a wedding website. Send out save the dates with the website address on it. Then they can make their own arrangements prior to receiving the invitation.

MrsTtoB:  +!

We did the same thing. We sent out the STD 10 months before the wedding, with the wedding website on it, and the 4 hotel blocks, that I contracted for, plus other guest information, was all on the website.

rrweddingday15:  my wedding is 3.28.15, and we are having 75 family member (all FMIL’S side of the family) coming from Boston to FL. My Future Mother-In-Law  blocked off about 25 hotel rooms (and got a cheaper group rate) and all family members have already booked flight andd hotel. We sent out our STD 2 weeks ago!!! We made sure to notify family about accommodations first. Plus we created a website and put the hotel info on there for any local people who didnt wanna drive after the wedding.

  • Wedding: October 2015

rrweddingday15:  Are you sending out save the dates? I’m getting married October 2015 and I’m sending out save the dates end of November or January in order to give everyone enough time to plan. I set up a room block and put that info on our website (which is mentioned on our save the dates). As for wedding invites, I’m not sending them out until mid to late-August for our October 24, 2015 wedding…If you are just doing invites, I guess I would say probably try to aim between that? More than two months but less than ten months notice? Maybe six months ahead of time?

  • Wedding: March 2015

rrweddingday15:  Our wedding is the 21st March 2015 and we’re sending out our wedding invitations with Christmas cards. Its probably unusually early but I’d prefer to have plenty of time to chase stragglers in and be sure everyone gets there hotel rooms booked than have last minute stress a couple of weeks before
