I know exactly how you feel. My day is creeping up too. I’m more paranoid about forgetting to do something, or something slipping through the cracks than I am about something going drastically wrong on the day of.
What helped me was to make a list (I’m a big list maker). I made it in excel, and as wedding stuff came to me, I added it to the list. Then I went back and color coded it – “Have to do”, “want to do”, and “would like to do”. It helps me to see that not everything is as necessary as I think it is in my head – do I HAVE to have little pictures of us on all the tables? Nah. It would be cute, sure – but it’s way below “Pick song for first dance” on my list 🙂

I almost posted something like this today. I am 8 weeks away and I just started to freak out. It all started this weekend. I had my hair and make up trial on Saturday morning and then my bridal shower Saturday afternoon and that’s when it hit me. I actually got sick right before my shower. My stomach was a wreck and my nerves were crazy. Ever since Saturday, I’ve been a mess. I am waking up constantly at night, I feel nervous/butterflies in my stomach, sometimes I get emotional and want to cry. It has nothing to do with the getting married part, it’s the wedding it’s self…making sure everything goes right, things are planned, no drama, etc. I talked to my fiance and he said he’s feeling similar and tells me to just focus that we’ll be on a plane to Hawaii hours after our wedding is over and we’ll have 8 days to relax. That thought is helping a bit.

@Bostongrl25: I drank. And registered for the Warrior Dash so I would have something to distract me. And drank some more.
Make sure that you take about 4 hours this week, preferably with a bottle of wine, and list absolutely everything that you would possibly need to take care of. Envision the event from start (dress rehearsal) to finish (boarding a plan to Honeymoon, if you’re lucky). Keep that sucker handy because as you get closer, absolutely everything that you check off will remind you of about 10 more. Go buy a super cute notebook to throw in your purse for ideas, impromptu brainstorm sessions with your girls, and if you have an iphone, use the Reminder function – saved my behind on several occasions.
And for god’s sake – delegate!! (and remember that you have a list and people that you have delegated to and then you have to let it go until tomorrow)

I am a pro at drinking wine so I will try that tip 😉
I suck at delegating though. My mom who usually drives me bananas has actually been very helpful. The tough part is that we live in a different state than all our family, so I can’t really ask the girls for help 🙁 My Fiance is amazing but you know how guys are, in the time it explains me what I need done I could have just done it myself! I may have a touch of control freak in me.

That doesn’t count as a break!! After deciding to take my own advice yesterday, I got in bed at 9pm and was asleep by 9:30pm. Try it.

I feel the same way.. My wedding is creeping up. I am sooo great at procrastinating and blowing things off too which makes things worse!
