- Wedding: November 2013 - St. Augustine Beach, FL
Fiance and I went and picked up our marriage license this past Friday. We didn’t take the premarital counseling so we had to pick up the license at least 3 days before our wedding date. Why did we pick it up so early then? The license is good for 60 days and I wanted to make sure we didn’t get busy and forget to pick it up in time for the wedding. It’s now safely pack away in the wedding box with our other decor and accessories.
At this point we can get married on any day between now and our wedding date if we want to. I have my dress, he has his suit, and we have an officiant so we could actually use the license now if we wanted to.
What made you wedding real for you?

@beachbride1216: We wound up eloping actually so everything was super whirlwind. We were supposed to have a big wedding in August, but eloped in May. We went and picked up our marriage license on my Birthday actually. I think between that and getting my dress fitted! Also, it REALLY hit me when I was texting our photographer asking how far away she was from the venue on the day of. It’s all such madness! Good madness, but such a flood of emotions, it’s absolutely crazy.

It’s still not real yet. I am dreading it, lol. I don’t want it at all.
We have to do the marriage license thing. The good news is that ours is good for like 6 months so it’s definitely not too early. XD

I’ll get occasional moments of feeling like it’s real and it’s getting close, but they don’t last. Like right now, it feels like it’s years away. I know it’s 51 days and that’s not that long but I still don’t really feel like it’s real yet. I suppose that’s a good thing, because there are things that need to be done and things going wrong so feeling like I have all the time in the world helps. I’m going to have a full blown melt down when it’s a week away and it all hits me.

I think buying the rings made it real for me. That was about 2 weeks ago.

I don’t know if i’ll feel like it’s really “real” until the day of lol. I know that it’s real, but i’m not stressed out like I expected and I feel like i’m just going with the flow waiting for the day to be here. I feel like I still have so much to do but I really don’t I guess, just finalizing things with vendors really.
