mrss2b2017 :  I don’t know if that’s a great suggestion. Personally for me it really exuberates my anxiety and causes panic attacks.

Do you suffer from anxiety at all? Just curious, because as mentioned above it amplifies my symptoms a lot. It might just me me though πŸ˜›

Colorado girl here, there are two different types of cannabis.  Sativa which will tend to exacerbate anxiety (it puts the brain into overdrive sort of speak, intense focus, energetic etc.) and then there’s indica.  Indica is the relaxing calming one.  In all the dispensaries here, they make it very clear whether you are buying Sativa or Indica because they do prompt two very different highs.  If the PP was interested in Cannabis, would definitely recommend a VERY small edible of Indica.  Just my two cents.

I’ve not read all the responses, but another vote for Rescue Remedy. I’ve also been prescribed very low dose Ativan for flights and haven’t felt knocked out or out of it at all. Just myself but without the stress. Obviously talk to your doctor, but my understanding was that taking it for a specific day or two wouldn’t lead to dependencies.

That said, we got married on a cruise ship and because of that we had to get legally married the day before so that we were still in Canada and whatnot. A Justice of the Peace came on board and legally married us with just our two witnesses, it was extremely low key and non stressful. The next day, when it came time for the ceremony, I clearly remember thinking that a lot of the pressure had been taken off because we had done the important part and this was just for fun and to share our love with our family. I’m not sure if you would feel the same, but perhaps you could get married at city hall and then relax a bit into the actual day since the most imporatant part will be taken care of? We still found the ceremony to be very special and lovely, but definitely a bit less ‘BIG’ feeling (In a good way though), if that makes sense.

Best of luck, Bee!

Jijitattoo :  Specifically Bach Flower Rescue Remedy, but I don’t think this is the problem.

I don’t suppose you would consider calling off the wedding.  You could get on a plane or train and be somewhere else.  I’m surprised at how many suggestions there are that you take pills.  I’m not against pills.  I wonder how many signs you need to have.  Can you at least go away somewhere on Friday and Saturday, by yourself?

mrss2b2017 :  Ginger will do the same thing, but my goodness, if you have to be drugged, one way or another, to get married, why do it.  She isn’t sick.  She’s just sick of it.  This doc sounds like a real winner.  Recommend reading Women Who Run With the Wolves – lots of good archetypal stories about what women will put themselves through in order to save themselves.

NowMrsS :  This info is really useful! Thanks for chiming in with that πŸ™‚

I am pretty sure I tried Sativa, so that probably explains that. I’ve only had it once in California and pretty sure that’s what we purchased.

LoganElizabeth :  That’s a great idea to have both your parents walk you down! A first look will also help put you at ease as well πŸ™‚ Good luck!

That’s rough. Maybe your doctor could prescribe you a beta blocker? I have had bad anxiety in the past about public speaking and I got propranolol to help block the effects of  adrenaline. It works VERY well for me. You take it an hour or two before the ceremony and you will be fine. It helps keep heart rate and blood pressure down with minimal side effects. And believe me, I had horrible anxiety. It’s like a miracle drug for me.
