(Closed) wedding itinerary HELP!!!!

Okay…did you want your Fiance to see you for the first time as you’re walking down the aisle or did you want to get the majority of photos out of the way beforehand and do a first look?

We are doing the first look because we really want to enjoy our guests and participate in cocktail hour, etc. Our wedding begins at 4pm.  With that being said, I was told by the venue to make sure we’re there by 3pm.  This means we should allot two hours for photos beforehand.  Thankfully our hotel, the park for photos and venue are all within 3-5 miles of eachother.  Since we will leave the hotel by 1pm for photos, I would like to be fully dressed by 12:30pm.  Prior to getting dressed I will need to get my hair and makeup done.  Both of which are coming to the hotel. My hair should be done before my makeup (according to the makeup artist).  And since they are both doing hair and makeup of others in my bridal party, I need to allot for more time.  So, I’m think I’m planning on having my hair stylist come between 9-9:30am and then makeup at 10:30am.

You need to work backward from your GO TO time.  Are you having hair and makeup done?  At the place you’re getting ready?  Or do you need to go to the salon?

I agree with the PP – you need to figure out your timing based on your start time.  Will you already be at the ceremony location at 5:30?  If not, how long will it take to get there?  Subtract that time from 5:30 – that’s when you need to leave.  Are you doing any pictures before you leave?  If so, decide how much time you want to dedicate to that, and subtract that from your “must leave by” time.  Then how long do you think it will take you to get dressed?  How long will it take you to do your hair and makeup?  Do you have to travel to get either of those things done?  Factor in those times.

My ceremony started at 1:00, so here’s my schedule (keep in mind everything was my house, including the ceremony):

8:30 – breakfast
9:00 – hair / bride’s family arrives to set up reception tent
11:00 – makeup
11:30 – bride & bridesmaids get dress
12:00 – bride & bridesmaid photos / groom & groomsmen get dressed
12:45 – groom & groomsmen photos (some groom family photos happened then too)
1:00 – ceremony
1:30 to 3:00 – photos / appetizers for guests
3:00 – reception

No body can really do this for you as you know all the details such as travel time etc. Your entire timeline will depend on where you’re getting ready and how many people you have in your bridal party.

Your salon should be able to tell you how long it will take them to do everyone’s hair so if your ceremony is at 5:30 you should be ready to go and away from guests view by 5:00. You can do pics for an hour or so before hand so you need to be ready by 3:45 – 4:00. So depending on how long it takes you to get to the site and when your salon can fit you in – subtract that from 4:00.
