- Wedding: July 2012
Without going into the whole back story: my fiancé and I really want to elope by driving cross country from Boston to the West Coast and getting married with just the two of us. We have talked about this idea with some of our family and they are slightly disappointed because they want to see us get married. The people pleasers that we are, we want to make them happy, but also want to fight for our idea. We came up with the compromise of having a “send off” reception-like event with immediate family right before we leave for our trip. The problem is that we won’t actually be getting married that day but we do want to incorporate wedding-like things so our families don’t feel like they missed out.
So far we’ve come up with having a wedding cake because we won’t have one when we elope and a photographer so we have photos of us with our families. What else can we have/do to make everyone feel like they were included?
