My make-up lady had a finishing clear coat for my lips that locked that stuff on! Even after a TON of kissing and eating, my lipstick was still there!

I didn’t want anything I’d have to worry about smudging or getting on my teeth etc. so I wore Lancome Juicy Tubes gloss. It had enough color and sparkle to last through the ceremony and photos without re-applying, and looked great in pics. I then applied it again after dinner.

I’ll be wearing my tried and true everyday lipstick. Something from the Chanel Rouge Allure line. Moisturizing, saturated color, stays on when eating and drinking or fades to a flawless stain. Can you tell I’m a total Chanel lipstick girl?

For long-lasting my favorites are a Stila long last lip crayon (I don’t think they sell it anymore) and a Clinique long wear lipstick. My test with a lipstick is whether Mr. LK tolerates it when we kiss. If it comes off on him, he is displeased. These two don’t, so they are my go-to.

I used YSL glossy stains.  I like it because it stays super glossy without having to apply a lip gloss.  It’s super smooth feeling, and the color stains nicely.  Mine was a pretty bright reddish color and it did a good job of staying.  I reapplied once or twice I think but in all of the pictures it looks like it’s fresh.

@MagnoliaBlossom:  I’ve had surprisingly good luck with Revlon ColorStay “ultimate suede” lipstick. I didn’t think it would work (I’ve tried inexpensive supposedly long-lasting lip colors before and found them horrible and no good) but particularly the darker shades of that lipstick stay on really well for me. There is a tad of wear if you’re eating, but it doesn’t seem to come off with kissing, and your lips stay pretty well colored for many hours. I apply 1 coat, let it set for a few minutes, then apply a second coat. It really sticks– I’ve had experiences where I’ve scrubbed my lips with soap and put lip balm on and wiped it right off again, as makeup remover, and the next morning my lips were still reddish!

No, I’m not a Revlon rep. 🙂 I’ve just been looking for a wear-proof lip product I could afford for years and am pleased that someone finally made one that worked.

@MagnoliaBlossom:  NARS has a nice lip crayon that I wear most days. Good staying power and great colors.
