I am partial to the desert, which has beautiful landscapes. We got married just outside of Joshua Tree. If you literally want to be on the coast, Big Sur is beautiful too! Both in California.

What is your budget? I just had a wedding in Sonoma, so did some extensive research.  Most places are absurdly expensive.

Oakhill farm: site rental $3000 and up to 120 people. 25 acre working farm in Sonoma.

Have you checked ramkins culinary school in Sonoma? before we doubled the wedding size, they told me the average cost for an 80 person wedding was $15,000 – $17,000.  I’m sure 50-60 people would be less and you could see if they have discounts for Friday or Sunday weddings.  That is still pricey, but it’s less expensive than other venues in the area.

The Presidio in San Francisco has a lot of difference spaces. It’s government owned, so rentals are quite resonable.  I liked the Presidio Log Cabin, and even though you’re in San Francisco, you’re in the presidio with redwood trees and it feels rustic.

Marin County, especially west marin has some gorgeous places. It’s less well known, so less pricey. The Pelican Inn, Rancho Nicascio

Caveat with Marin and SF, they would be best for autumn weddings otherwise you’re taking a big risk with fog.
