Oh dear. I can see this person being on the bee. That’s ridiculous.

I totally see this person posting on the bee and then being super pissed when they are chewed out for rudeness rather than being praised for thier thriftiness and creativity like they were expecting. They’d also respond to everyone saying “well were paying for it ourselves with no help so…..”

Wow that’s really different, and I can see where the conflict can arise.

Now I’ve heard everything. I suppose we shouldn’t be surprised when we’ve heard of brides charging all their guests the price of admission. What I can’t believe is that the “new” Abby suggests that this is in any way contingent on the size of the guest list. Really? In general, I’m not a big fan of her advice.

Some people seem to lose all sense of reality when wedding planning. A former housemate did up a spreadsheet of guests and how much money she estimated each guest would give in order to see who would make the cut, then complaining that if her estimate was correct they wouldn’t actually make any money from their wedding at all. As far as I remember they then invited everybody in the hope that 45 people wouldn’t come but still send them cash so that the wedding ‘would pay for itself’.

JFC why would you post that on here? Literally some bee is going to read it and think “WOW THATS GENIUS! MY WEDDING IS GOING TO BE SO UNIQUE!!”

What a terrible Idea lolol. Glad Abbey that that shit down. Your wedding is not a lottery to anyone LOL.

Hmm in the UK it might work because the norm is for tiered guests. So you might invite people to the evening reception only, but mention that they’re welcome to pop by for the actual ceremony (I think our ceremonies have to be open to the general public anyway by law, though you wouldn’t expect gate crashers) although space is limited.

I wouldn’t want to specifically invite somebody though and not have seating for them!
