I’m looking for some more ideas for bar/make-it-yourself style food stations. We’re trying to find something that’s kid-friendly but also something adults will be able to enjoy. I definitely want a mashed potato bar. I’m not sure what type of food would work as the protein though – possibly mini sliders? But we want a veggie option too. Maybe pasta? I’m open to other suggestions. We’d also have salad and soup options, and maybe a sundae bar or a chocolate fountain with fruit for dessert. We’re definitely leaning more towards comfort foods over fine dining.

We had a late night taco station at our wedding, it was a hit!

Mac and cheese bar? What about different types of pizza? You can make them look more sophisticated if they were flatbreads rather then your basic round pizza. A pasta bar with a chef attendant would definitely be doable. Grilled cheese bar? Again a chef attendant is needed. Chili bar?

Our reception is at a baseball stadium we are doing a cheesesteak bar, mac & cheese bar, chicken/steak/veggie kabobs, taco bar, quesdilla bar and salad bar. For dessert we are doing dippin dots, funnel cake bar and cotton candy. We wanted fun foods that everyone would enjoy.

Try googling different wedding venues with in-house catering in your area. I found some of the most creative ideas that way! Hotels that host large parties or conferences will also have a catering menu you can view online…lots of great ideas there, too!

Mini sliders would be fun, you can do a veggie option for those! Mashed potato and pasta are very carb heavy, I’d find a different protein than meat pasta.
maybe a charcuterie with smoked sausage?

Our mashed potato bar is still being talked about over a year later! cheese, bacon, chives, and sour cream were the toppings. This was served at cocktail hour so we missed out, but I remember at the tasting it was phenomenal.
