I’m having a total brain freeze when it comes to thinking of songs I want to play during my reception. I have my first dance song picked out and a few (emphasis on few) others, but I am quite literally drawing a blank. I’m not a big fan of the Electric Slide, and Cha Cha Slide, and any other routine dance song, so if anyone has any suggestions, that would be great.
I’ve looked on several websites and I am only finding first dance songs. A lot of the songs I hear on the radio are not appropriate for a wedding reception, so I’m lost. We like all genres of music, so any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Typically, bands/djs don’t like you to give them a list of songs to play. They much prefer you give them a do not play list for htem to avoid. A good band dj will know how to play to the crowd based off what they observe. If they play a song and no one is dancing, they’ll change genre to see what will get people off their feet.
Also, just because it’s a wedding doesn’t mean you can’t play popular music from the radio. Not every song has to be a romantic love song with wedding-appropriate lyrics. (unless of course, that’s what your crowd is dancing to).

I am not having a DJ though. It just wasn’t in my budget. I know someone with the proper equipment that is doing it for free, but they asked that I give them the songs I want played.
We are almost there! (On the flip side of that, so much to do, so little time!!)
