This is a terrible pic of me but you can see both the lipstick and nail polish

I’m planning on red or a super pale purple, maybe with just a hint of glitter. Our wedding colors are deep reds/burgundy  and shades of purple, so either would look nice with my bouquet. Personally, I think French looks really dated and predictable in wedding pictures.

I did a light gray with light glitter ombre. Not too flashy, but not too boring πŸ™‚

I did a very light pink that had a hint of shimmer to it.  My bridesmaids had light pink dresses so the color coordinated very well.

I’m not a huge fan of French manicures so I plan on going with colour. Likely red, but we shall see.

I originally wanted to go with a very light gelly nude (my favorite manicure color) but ended up doing a pinkish white like dreamreve1 showed in her pic.

As many people have ready said, French manicures are a pretty dated look- especially French on acrylic with square tips (which I used to absolutely adore!). If you’re really feeling the French look, try an American manicure with a very light nude.

I don’t have any pics that show it that well, but I had a neutralish shimmery (not glittery exactly) gold for my wedding manicure.  It was so pretty, and it stood up really well to a sandy, beachy honeymoon.

I had a classic French manicure painted onto my natural nails and loved it. I am very picky about nail color, and, although I like some shades of pink, I don’t light neutral/flesh/tan tones, and I didn’t want to wear pink or any bright or dark color.

ETA, I don’t think French is particularly dated, because, in my own history, I remember it being popular in the mid 1980s all the way through today. Even my 80-something mother  (who only wore clear nail lacquer) remembers women using white pencil under their nails when she was young to create the illusion of whiter tips. What I personally think is dated are thick, square or duck-tail style acrylic French manicures.

i vote color…i think french nails are kind of dated…but a light nude color is classic. I also love the bees that did dark red, I think it’s gorgeous!
