So, Fiance and I long decided that we would be spending our wedding night at a hotel because after a long day of having a great time, we didn’t want to come home to a (possibly) messy apartment. Even if we just knocked out, we wanted it to be special.
I had originally booked us a room near the reception venue, but after seeing it, we immediately knew it was…well..not good. Fiance wanted to find us a wedding night hotel…which he did…BUT HE WON’T TELL ME WHERE!
So, it’s been on my mind, and I’m extemely curious. Since he won’t tell me, I thought I’d live vicariously through you bees…where are you guys planning on spending your wedding night? Those of you staying somewhere other than your home, I’d love to see pictures!

We stayed in a hotel, along with about 75% of our guests (our venue was about an hour away for most people). I remember the bed was really comfy, but I was only in it for about 4 hours, since we had an afterparty at the hotel which went til 4am, and breakfast started at 8. The breakfast buffet was excellent… hopefully you get a hot breakfast where you are staying!

I thought about a hotel, but decided against it. I don’t want to have a set time to wake up and be ready to check out by. And the other major reason is that we have a cat, so I didn’t want him to be alone overnight or take him to my parents’ house for babysitting since the girls are getting ready at our house so he would have been alone all day if we did that. Anyway, yah he’s spoiled.

@Little_Nut88: The original hotel that I booked was going to be where the guests were also staying since a lot are coming from out of state. It just didn’t look as impressive when we finally saw it.
@Pinkmoon: We were thinking about that for our little girl too (4 year old boxer), but we figure if we fed her her dinner, we’d be back home in time to feed her her first meal in the morning. I think she’ll be fine sleeping by herself, though she may whine a bit.

We will be going home. We choose this because our reception ends at 3, and we are leaving first thing the next morning for a road trip to our cruise departure. I don’t want to have to worry about anything else than I already have to. We will be making sure the apartment is clean though because i don’t want to come home to a messy house (on top of piling in the decorations and gifts LOL!)

We stayed in a bed & breakfast. We choose this one b/c it had a fireplace in the bedroom, oo la la ;), and the room was a super bonus b/c they have an adjoining room with a hot tub and the only guests allowed to use it after 10PM are those staying in the fireplace room. So our wedding night was fun!

We have absolutely no idea where we are staying, but know it will be a hotel of bed and breakfast. Reasoning? We live 3.5 hours from our hometown/where the wedding is, and I will NOT be spending my wedding night in my parents home, in my childhood bedroom, with its lime green walls, full sized bed and photos of golden retriever puppies all over, not to mention the paper thin walls and the fact that my headboard backs up to the wall I share with my parents room. AWKWARD! lol

@eliseemma: Yea…the thought of doing a cleaning overhaul the week of the wedding just turned me off to the whole idea -_-
@AnnieAAA: That’s actually why I booked the room I originally did because it had a fireplace and a hot tub. Little did I know that the hot tub was actually just an oversized jetted bath tub. Again -_-
@SarahTee: I don’t normally LOL, but your post made me LOL. I can’t imagine spending my wedding night in my childhood room. Nooooo way…not a single chance.

- Wedding: June 2014 - Ontario, Canada ♥ EDD- April 2016
We’ll be staying in our home (: Our reception will end around 3 or 4 and we’ll spend some time walking by the water in our wedding attire (super excited for this aha). We’re planning on walking around the spots that we spent a lot of time at when we were in highschool and first dating. Then we’ll go home (: We just bought this house in May and it’ll be where we raise our kids and stuff. I want to spend our wedding night somewhere significant.

Our wedding night was spent in a hotel! With my family directly across the hall.
They were like “We wanted to be NEAR YOU GUYS!”
And I was like “Dear JESUS WHY.”

We will be staying at home and I’m excited about that. I want to see my cats, get comfy and feel like we’re finally in our house as husband and wife. When I mentioned it to my Maid/Matron of Honor and Future Mother-In-Law they decided they would be decorating it somehow. We also loved the fact that it is free!)

We stayed at a hotel downtown. Our at home religious wedding was just a ceremony and light refreshments (we also had a destination wedding with reception) and since we lived with Darling Husband parents we didnt want to spend our wedding night there…weird. So we got a really nice hotel suite that his friend gave us an awesome deal on! It was really nice 🙂

We are spending the wedding night at home as we are have a huge pig roast the next day. We are not leaving for the honeymoon until 3 days after.

@sugarpea: I think I would feel similarly if we were in our house by that time, but as it stands, we won’t be closing until mid-February. I definitely agree with your sentiment though.
@BrandNewBride: Oh dear! Knowing my family, if they knew we were nearby, we wouldn’t get any time to ourselves.
@springbride23: That’s so sweet that they want to decorate your place for you.
@sweetchiquita12: Yay for good deals! I think Fiance paid full price.
@trueblue14: Yumm….pig roast.
Funny thing to add…Fiance kept dragging his feet looking for a hotel because he felt like he didn’t want to spend the money yet. I told him that they don’t charge until we check out and he was floored! He had absolutely no idea! I found it endearing since he normally is so knowledgable about everything.

We are staying at the hotel we booked our room block at. We don’t have much choice though. We live out of state and are getting married where I grew up so it is either at a hotel or with my parents which would be kind of awkward. Our hotel is giving us a free room for the number of rooms we booked.
