Even though our wedding is an hour away from where we live we’re doing a hotel.  It’s mainly because if we go home we’ll face all the usual chores and instead of enjoying our wedding night we’ll just do the same old thing we do every night…

@BrandNewBride:  Lol oh no! I specifically told our hotel salesman that I didn’t want to be near our family. I don’t want them hearing us (well, me lol)

Our wedding is at our house and we’re staying at home.  It doesn’t make sense for us to have an epic wedding at our house and then leave for some random hotel.

@LTD418:  We’ll be staying at the hotel where our reception takes place – the room is included once we meet our minimum (which we will)! The hotel was renovated very recently and looks great. We’ll have champagne, strawberries, and DoubleTree cookies waiting for us post-reception 🙂

We are having our wedding in my home town which is 1.5 hours from our house.  We are spending the night at a B&B that none of our other guests will be at.  I didn’t want to drive back that night, nor change before we got to the hotel.  Ours has a jucuzi tub and a fire place, and just looks wonderful.  I’m so excited.

@LTD418:  I would totally be fine at home but since we’ll be partying with guests at a hotel after it will be more fun to stay in the hotel. I think we get a free night if we book enough rooms, so hopefully we get there. Either way, it’s a special night so I think it’s nice to be in a hotel : )

I picked other. Technically we didn’t stay at home, but we kinda did…sorta.  It was a destination wedding and I rented two massive houses for both our families and wedding guests. On our wedding night I moved into the rental house designated for his family, and we spent the night in his room. He had it ALL decked out with lights, candles, rose petals (even a rose petal heart on the bed), champagne…it was amazing, so romantic!   It was like staying in a B&B only better.

We just didn’t see the point of getting a hotel room or B&B room for just ONE night and not really be able to enjoy it.  We were up to 2 am what with the after party (pool party at the rental house, lol)  and slept in as long as we could the next day.

we are getting married in a very remote area in a state park (Table Rock State Park in Pickens, SC), so all lodging is cabins. there are no hotels to be found! we rented our cabin for 3 nights, arriving on a thursday, rehearsal (ETC) on friday, and wedding on saturday…so we’ll spend our wedding night here. i think it is so charming! here are some pics 🙂 my bridal party will also be getting ready here on the day of…

My ceremony is 11am, reception will follow immediately –  it will be a three course meal (lunch-time) with 30ish guests (mostly local). then after that we are off to honeymoon on the same day!

We plan on staying in a hotel, even though we live about a 10 minute drive from the venue.
