I’ve had wedding nightmares several nights now! They’re always so bizaare too- the last one we had to get married in clown suits!

Most of mine are focused on being unprepared as well. Most often it’s that I forgot to schedule hair and make-up, or just didn’t bring my dress at all.

I dreamt recently that for some reason I couldn’t go to the wedding but they had the whole day without me. And then when I was upset about it everyone was like, “It went great!  Everyone had a blast!  I’m not sure what you’re so upset about…” Sigh. 🙂

I had a dream that my wedding happened, but only with what I had booked in real life. So we had a venue and a bridal party, but at that point we had no photographer, there were no decorations, no flowers, no cake. I have no idea how the guests got there as no invitations have been sent. It was really quite disappointing.

Gosh I have had so many. The most vivid is the one when I didn’t realize until I got to the church that my dress was a burlap brown. I decided to go hunting, by myself, to a nearby wedding shop for a new dress but all they had were basically thin slips.

Even though we’ve been engaged for 7 years I’ve only ever gotten deep into planning one other time. However, I’ve had the odd dream here and there over the years. My most recent, shortly after l joined the bee, was that I was remarrying my ex……UM, NO!

Yes, I had a few in the final few months. Favourite one was not having time to change my underwear and wearing black undies under my dress which showed through, of course. My sister’s boyfriend just said ‘oh dear’, which is very life like. Then there was the part where we weren’t walking down the aisle but were on a podium and watched the vicar walking down the aisle. Truly bizarre!

I had a dream where the wedding was just utter chaos – guests wandering around all over the place, bridemaids didn’t have a clue what they were doing, my dad turned up in shorts and t-shirt and then disappeared somewhere, I didn’t know what door I was meant to go in, guests started leaving before I had even gone down the aisle and then the processional music stuffed up and I walked half the aisle in silence. I was going ‘it’s ok, just stay calm, it doesn’t matter’ to everything but then I just snapped and screamed ‘THIS IS RIDICULOUS’ and refused to get married that day ahaha!

I got married two weeks ago and I’m STILL having them! Haha my favorite one was where I got to the church late for the ceremony and walked in and my fiance had a thick head of hair (he’s bald in real life) and it really upset me because I felt like it wasn’t him. Don’t worry – they’re just dreams, and they’re ridiculous!

I just had my first one last night!

We have rented a house for the wedding and reception and in my dream we had accidentally booked everything a week later than the wedding was. So our guests showed up on the day with no wedding to attend and different people staying in the house.

Absolutel disaster! I had to wake up and double-check all our agreements and email to make sure it wasn’t a warning dream.

Happy to see I’m not the only one! I had two or three at this point and each was about chaos and people thinking everything is fine but me. The latest one is about having our beautiful room but forgetting to book the DJ and all we had was an iPod playing techno trance music. All my cousins (some BM) showed up late with uninvited guests. Every other time I remember thinking “this is obviously a dream so there is no need to cry! Just wake up!” but this latest one felt as real as it gets and I was so disappointed about forgetting the DJ as I woke up!

bethhryn:  i literally had this exact dream the other night. only what i had booked so far. so we were ok except there was absolutely no music or entertainment for the ceremony and reception. i just want to get everything booked so the nightmares stop!!! we haven’t sent our invites out yet so i’m just waiting for the “no one turned up” nightmares to start until i get my RSVPs back…
