I had 6 no shows (one couple of which facebooked me two days earlier) and one of my guests showed up with his 2 kids (who were neither invited nor RSVP-ed for) but since there was extra space it turned out to be no problem.

About 20, we heard later on why people didn’t show. We had 110 RSVP. It’s really dissapointing because I had whole tables without people. I coulld have saved money on food, table cloths, and decorations if I would of knew even like 2 days in advance. I don’t know how to prevent his..

@Jamie42003:  yea we could have saved money as well if we got more noticed– we gave final head count monday the 11. people told us on the 15… not good

all thrity.. which really sucks cause at 35 dollars a head plus alcohol it puts a real knot in the budget.

We had 5 no show. 2 told us a day before and the other 3 were dates of people in the bridal party. 1 was sick and the other 2 just didn’t show. It was pretty annoying because it was about $85 a person!

@Jamie42003:  me too! especially to one person because she pulled the rsvp yes and no show three times- once to a fancy resturant for a birthday celebration, once at my bridal shower and then my wedding. and she had made up HORRIBLE excuses like her god daughter had some tragic accident the night of the birthday party–her facebook never mention the accident, because it NEVER HAPPENed. then for bridal shower she said her sister had a baby… nother lie- sister never was pregnant.

@asianyoushi yeah I got some bullshit excuses too. Someone broke up with their boyfrind the same day as my wedding. Then got back together the next day. The other told me she “had family drama” (whatever that means). I think they were too lazy to drive the half hour to get to my wedding. The other people that didn’t show up were old people so I guess I give them an out.

I continue to pretend I don’t care that they weren’t there, but to be honest it kind of hurt my feelings.

we didn’t have any no shows luckily.

my younger sister broke up with her boyfriend just 2 or 3 days before the wedding so we had a proxy to fill in.  it was my son’s friend who really wanted to come to the wedding anyways so we decided, why not?  he’s a great guy.   (note: my son and my younger sister are the same age, 27)  well, this proxy made a pretty good impression on my sister.  they are still dating after nearly 2 months.
