So, I just spoke with a friend of mine’s father in law, who is going to marry my fiance and I. After discussing the whole process and asking him the cost/charge for his services, he indicated that he does not have one. It is up to the discretion of us if we want to give him one or not.
Of course we will want to give him something or money. Any suggestions on how much to give him or a nice gift?

I’ve seen numbers for officiants ranging from $200-$600… but we’re not going to be giving that much to the friend who marries us. I’m not sure what we’re going to do for him, TBH.
Maybe ask your friend if there’s a hobby his/her Father-In-Law enjoys, or a charity he would like to support, and make your gift related to that?

We are using my cousin as an officiant and he is not asking for anything. I think my SO will make him something by hand. She is a self-made carpenter and my cousin loves her work.
Of course he will be invited to the rehearsal dinner and the reception!
