Hello Philly Brides! A friend of mine is getting married in Philadelphia next year (september ’09) and is searching for an officiant to come to the Crystal Tea Room and perform their ceremony. Can anyone suggest one? Thanks in advance for your help!

Civil or religious? And if religious, what denomination?

We’re using Eleanora from Journeys of the Heart http://www.journeysoftheheart.org They are non denominational celebrants and officiants. A friend of mine used a different officient- as my Dear Fiance and I are of different religions (however neither of us are particularly religious) we”re going the non denominational route (though there are different officiants to fit every need)

If they are not religious, they can marry themselves in Pennsyvlania. That’s what we’re doing.
We’re having a friend officiate. We were going to have him get one of those online divinity things, but since those kind of weddings are being challenged currently in Pa. courts, we’ll marry ourselves. We’re just going to have him stand up and officiate to keep my grandmother and some of our older family friends from freaking out, but we’re going to marry ourselves. All you have to do is get a self uniting marriage license.
They don’t have that in all states, but with Pennsylvania’s Quaker roots, they have it here. I asked the clerk of courts already and she said we didn’t have to be Quaker.
